The Engineering Research Centre of the School of Engineering https://engineering.research.southwales.ac.uk/ is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant specializing on digital platforms for enhanced learning. This position is based at School of Engineering, of the University of South Wales. The successful candidate will be required to design Network Models for 6G coverage-capacity optimization in 3D urban environments. In addition, the candidate will prepare draft technical reports based on the research findings. This will require a background in mobile/digital communications and mathematics for engineering. The researcher will be a Doctoral Candidate and member of the EWOC (Efficient optical and wireless convergence for beyond 5G networks)(2022-2026)(101073265) project, an International Doctoral Training Network that aims to provide research and professional training. The post will require international travel and enrollment within a PhD degree program at USW.

Bachelor´s degree (2:1)/Master’s degree in the areas of Telecommunications and/or Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics Engineering or equivalent degrees |

Ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge in Mobile/Wireless networking, Mathematic for Engineering, and Software Design |

Ability to innovate. Any relevant publication experience will be considered an advantage |

Independent drafting of scientific reports |

Experience in Matlab modeling, knowledge of C/C++ or Python |

Ability to work independently in a typical research engineering laboratory |

The candidates are eligible if they have not resided in the United Kingdom for more than 12 months within the period of the past 3 years (UKRI/MSCA eligibility requirement) |
