                              First Workshop on

       Smart Video-multicast  for Next-generation Multi-hop Networks

Deadline Extended to March 10th, 2014

Organized in association with the

Nineteenth IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC 2014) (http://www.ieee-iscc.org/), Madeira, Portugal

Video communication has grown considerably with the wide applications including on-demand services, live multi-party conferencing, on-line video games, video surveillance, OTT etc.  At the same time, wireless multi-hop networks, has becoming part of standard in various technologies including LTE, IEEE 802 series, etc. because of its capability of range extension, energy reduction, and throughput enhancement. Video in wireless multi-hop network is an extremely demanding service in terms of QoS provisioning, security and delay guarantees. Researchers have been seeking for new solutions such as network coding assisted mechanisms, cross-layer optimization, new architectures, new protocols, etc.

This workshop, inspired by the SMARTVISION research initiative will bring together academic and industrial stakeholders to in an effort to identify and discuss the major technical challenges and recent results related to advance video multicast in wireless networks. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

•             Multi-hop wireless network architectures

•             New protocol stacks

•             Resource management in wireless networks

•             Cross-layer optimization in wireless networks

•             Video transmission and QoE Support in wireless networks

•             Reliable and efficient communication in wireless networks

•             Measurement and traffic awareness

•             Network coding

•             Anomaly and thread detection and problem diagnosis

•             Encryption functions

•             Robust authentication mechanisms

•             Key management solutions

The workshop accepts only novel, previously unpublished papers. All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of five (5) printed pages (10-point font) including figures using EDAS. (http://edas.info/N17103)
